Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026 FAQs

What is Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026?

Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026 follows a mix of internal and external assessments. Students will go through four formative assessments during the year and one final summative exam at the end. The final exam for each paper will have 100 marks- 50 marks will be for multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and the remaining 50 marks will be for subjective questions. This pattern applies to both the HSC and Madhyama courses. The same system is also followed in Class 9.

How many marks will each subject carry in Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026?

According to Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026, each subject will carry a total of 100 marks. Out of these, 50 marks will be for objective-type questions (MCQs), and 50 marks will be for subjective questions. For the Madhyama course, subjects may carry either 100 or 75 marks, depending on the subject. Even then, marks are divided equally between MCQs and subjective parts. This helps students prepare for both styles of questions effectively.

How are internal assessments conducted under Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026?

In Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026, internal assessments are done through four formative assessments- one in each quarter of the academic year. These are conducted at the school level and help in tracking a student’s progress regularly. These assessments may include class tests, assignments, projects, or oral evaluations. Internal assessment is an important part of the final evaluation and ensures students are learning consistently and not just preparing for the final exam.

Will there be only one final exam in Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026?

Yes, Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026 includes only one final-year-end exam, called the Summative Examination. This exam will be held after the completion of the academic year. It will carry 100 marks for each subject and will be divided into two parts: multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and subjective questions. This single exam format reduces pressure on students and gives them enough time to prepare by the end of the session. However, formative assessments will be held throughout the year.

What type of questions will be asked in Odisha Board Matric Exam Pattern 2026?

As per Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026, the final exam in each subject will include two types of questions. First, there will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), which are objective and carry 50 marks. Second, there will be subjective questions, which also carry 50 marks. Subjective questions may include short-answer and long-answer formats. This mix allows students to test both their understanding of facts and their ability to explain and apply concepts.

Who prepares the question papers under Odisha Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026?

In Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026, the final board exam papers are prepared by BSE Odisha. However, for the Class 10 half-yearly exams and Class 9 year-end exams, question papers are also prepared by the Board but are sent to the District Education Officers (DEOs). These DEOs are then responsible for supplying the papers to all schools. This process ensures that question papers are same across the state and all students are marked on the same basis.

Does Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026 have a supplementary exam option?

Yes, Odisha BSE Exam Pattern 2026 includes a provision for supplementary exams. If a student is unable to pass in one or more subjects in the final board exams, they can appear for the supplementary exam without repeating the full academic year. These exams are usually held a few weeks after the main results are announced. The exact schedule and details will be released by the board through an official notice.

What is the exam schedule for Odisha BSE 2026?
